Re: SOCOM
I might be able to make it on that date, but I'm not sure. I'm just wondering why this is in the LAN Tunneling subforum. Are you doing this for the sake of testing out the SOCOM games' LAN modes? If so, which tunneling program do you plan on using?

Re: Midnight Club II - Questions
If what I heard is true, one must set up the PS2 as a DMZ host in order to play the game online, but I can't verify that claim as I do not own the PS2 version of this game.

Re: URLs of SOCOM patches
Thank you very much for posting that link, Dominator94-. Say, did I see you discussing online Playstation 2 games at the official PSN forum a few months ago? Your username sounds familiar, but I'm not able to verify that it's the same as the one I saw, because Sony seems to have recently deleted eve...

Re: URLs of SOCOM patches
I found the URL of the SOCOM II patch by using Wireshark to log the packets that were being transmitted. I found an HTTP request asking for /_socom2-prod/currentpatch/APACHE00.ZDB . (This was right after the PS2 sent a DNS query for updates.pdonline.scea.com.) That was how I figured out the URL.) I ...

URLs of SOCOM patches
SOCOM II patch:
http://updates.pdonline.scea.com/_socom ... ACHE00.ZDB
I found that URL by looking at a packet log of SOCOM II that I made a few months ago. Favrenation gave me the idea to go through the log and look for HTTP packets!
More to come.

Re: Any Football/Soccer games online?
...you were supposed to add these lines to your hosts file on PC:... Are you sure that info is not for the Windows version of PES 6? The hosts file on a Windows PC is only used to resolve queries made by that same PC. Therefore, the Playstation 2 would have no way of finding the information that yo...

Re: Battlefield 2 Modern Combat - Questions
...does that mean that although bf2 has a native aspect ratio of 4:3 if one a widescreen tv it will be emulated/stretched to 16:9? That all depends on what model your widescreen TV is, and how its set up. Some TV sets will always stretch 4:3 signals, in order to use all of the space on the screen. ...

Re: More PS2 Online?
I think it is indeed the end of games for PS2. Amazon's page for Madden NFL 2013 doesn't have a link for a Playstation 2 version, and Madden is the most mainstream videogame series that ever graced the PS2. I think that MLB 2K12 will remain the last [official] game to get released for the PS2.
