Is there a tutorial for using OpenSpy with PS2 games? Or is it just using the Bobz alternate DNS?

Also, do PC hosted dedicated servers for games like Star Wars: Battlefront II on the PS2 show up with OpenSpy?

The syphon filter community made a video on how to change the DNS earlier on. The DNS is outdated on it, but it shows how.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xw-Xno6-TOw
And FreddY made one for THPS using the in-game settings w/ annotations over old DNSs.

The dedicated server would have to be modded. Should be simple enough. I just fixed up a PC game to work last night. I don't think I still have one on my server, but I'll download the dedicated server to mod it for openspy.

You might not even need to modify the dedicated server code to do that. You could edit the hosting computer's hosts file, which is located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc by default, in order to match up SWBFII's domain name to Openspy's IP Address.

My reason against editing it as a whole like that is that some gamespy games still function normally. Why some games are separated between my DNS servers.

Not normally, but if you direct Gamespy to Openspy it will. Seeing as SWBF2 is still going I'm guessing it will be one of the last, so at that point a hosts edit would be fine.

Anyway 3 methods:
1) Add openspy records to hosts
Another reason I'm not fond of a hosts edit here is because you'd need a separate one for every Gamespy game as I don't recall wildcards working in there.

2) Use my DNS from PC
DNS does support wildcards and its a server sided thing so you don't have to maintain anything, but if DNS is changing something, you can't see the original server unless you change back to a regular one.

3) Use modded exe
Modded exe will provide support for the one thing modded. Nothingelse is affected this way, but a mod would be required for every game you want to use on Openspy.

I have modded the exe for the dedicated server, but I can't test it because it doesn't want to run on my box regardless. I dunno why... If it works let me know. http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?0lycysrh6oyyh25

Attempting to revive battlefield 2 modern combat, can someone direct me to a packet capture from when gamespy was up. We are getting close now, but a packet capture would really help at this stage.

I plan to make some paquet capture for sniper elite tonight if I can connect.

Where can we share our paquet capture?
