GameShare

ITS TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
Sorry. I don't have the time to keep the old services up and running. GameMaster will shutdown on 01.06.2016. Best wishes for the future of our lovely old games... I'll be back some time with something great again...

Yeah... GameShare was a cool thing, however almost all games that were supported are still playable on other DNS addresses.

Star Wars Battlefront Works with OpeSpy, you can host a 4 players games, nothing like a dedicated server...

Bobz and Cristian are just a DNS servers, they make the game connect to OpenSpy

Sad to see it go, was a good service.

Are you guys still able to use Bobz and Cristian's to pass through DNAS? - I am having wifi issues at the moment.

Just to let you guys know, the people at SWBFGamers.com are working on continuing the work of GameMaster with a little help from Kalle. Their GameSpy workaround is called SWBFspy. I am working with them on getting it to work on PS2 properly. For now its not working perfectly yet but here is the link to where we are talking about it:
http://www.swbfgamers.com/index.php?topic=10608.0

When it is all set up, I think the Primary DNS number to use will be 74.91.125.138

EDIT / UPDATE: Anyone looking to play Star Wars Battlefront 1 or Battlefront 2 on their Playstation 2 online, use 74.91.125.138 as the Primary DNS of your PS2. This workaround is called SWBFspy and is managed by the people at SWBFgamers.com. If you have troubles getting to the server list on this DNS, try using 186.34.189.167 as the Primary DNS of your PS2, this is Christians DNS and it should bring you to the same server list that SWBFSpy does. Both of these seem to be suitable replacements for GameMaster on Battlefront 1 and 2.

Older information below:

It seems that we're running into some issues with finding a new functional workaround.

SWBFspy DNS 74.91.125.138 leads to the patch screen and then if you are able to get past it, the server list is empty. Putting up a server (4-man) results in host registration failed, and also does not work.

I also tried qtracker DNS 63.239.170.150 this one doesn't get the patch screen. However the server list is empty. You can put up a server though. However when I tested this with another player we were not able to see each other's 4 mans on the server list, which sits at "Busy 0%". This indicates to me that the PS2 is not getting the list properly.

Do any of you guys know of another workaround that might support Battlefront 2? I tested out OpenSpy in 2014 for CHC and Frosty I think. I looked at their site and there aren't too many forum posts recently. If I remember, back in 2014 it needed a lot of updating and it did work for 4-mans on Battlefront 1 but not Battlefront 2. Once I found out GameMaster was functional I didn't really look into them further.

Are there other DNS numbers to try? Ive seen the Bobz one but I think it only supports certain games? If you guys know anything let me know. Also to those of you that run workarounds I can run wireshark packet captures on Battlefront 1 and 2 if that would be helpful. I even have an old capture from May 2014 when GameSpy was up and working by default for SWBF2.

EDIT: Thankyou to JamesCableCar from the other thread, to let you guys know "Christians DNS" 186.34.189.167 Is able to retrieve the server list from SWBFgamers. I don't understand how but it is working somewhat for now.
