PS2 Online Gaming

Online game status checkers, features implemented on Bobz1993 and Snipe's server websites specifically for the Tony Hawk series, are tools that have been used by the THPS community to see who is currently playing online. Being that Bobz's website is linked with GSList, a collection of all GameSpy online server lobbies, you are essentially able to check the current status of any online game maintained by GameSpy.

What I have done is sorted out the game keys and compiled a complete list of PS2 online games powered by GameSpy, so that you can see if anyone is playing online at any given time.

I've marked various notes such as whether a game supports LAN, has been reported as having it's network service terminated, if it is a PAL release, etc. Note that just because we are able to view the status of all of these games through Bobz's website, it does not mean that Bobz hosts the online servers for all of these games. It is rather just a simple way to view the status of all of these GameSpy maintained games.

The community can use this tool to its advantage, as many of these games remain quite active.

I did plan on expanding my status area, including more accurate info with maps and such, but it would be extremely time consuming considering all of the games within gslist. If enough people are interested I'd have no problem opening up the project to have other people help acquire the information.

Though snipes server can be a bit faster at times (he pays for a vps), hes a bit stingy about the whole thing at times, so we'll just have to deal with my home internet connection lol >.>

This is great! Gamespy used to have these stats on their site but they took down their "Stat Tracker". Great work in getting this info back up.

Nice job! These links were on OnlineConsoles at one time, but due to the site changing priorities, were taken down. They're pretty handy for checking Area 51, the SWBF games and BF2: MC.

Yea wow this is very very useful for us. Great job Freddy and Bob. I remember Gamespy used to let you see this info on their site, but they got rid of that feature awhile ago.

I'll probably be adding this list into the guides section and might stick it in the game scheduling section of the site as well.

After choosing this game at random out of the list I noticed that theres an 11 player CTF up. Anyone know what the game is about? =o

I wonder if its possible to bring downed games like Blitz pro or deer hunter back like amplitude?

In my mind i'm nowhere close to done, but it functions to what you're used to as it is still using the thps.info status page. I'm also currently overhauling that site so alot of the links are dead within the navigation.
