Re: Post your audio/video setups here
its about 33' , my new one will be about 34', and plus it's a sony, if you take care of them, sony's are awesome tvs, i will never buy any other brand again , also this tv only inputs 480I but the picture is still awesome for a 1998 model. my newer tv will be a 2003 Sony Wega, pronounced, "veh-gah, vega. FD Trinitron flat screen CRT tv. it is an HDTV model KV-32HS510 and it outputs 480I, 480P, 720P, and 1080I. this tv was way ahead of its time, and the new tv even includes a memory card reader for the sony Cybershot camera, so you can view pictures right from the tv

Is it widescreen? Or does it get letterboxed when you view16:9 video? Ether way I admire your love for old tv's. Your a very rare breed.

Re: Post your audio/video setups here
if your asking about my new tv, it is 4:3 aspect ratio, but it has an 16:9 enhanced feature which maximizes the resolution for dvd movies and stuff with 16:9 aspect ratio, which i believe it fills the whole screen. Yeah i dont really like elctronics madfe after the year 2004, i like the older tech cause i perfer the way they perform, and how long they last compared to newer electronicsFavrenation wrote:Is it widescreen? I hope your good at servicing those tv's because the parts will be more expensive as time goes by. Especially the bulbs since everyone is moving to LCD tv's.

Re: Post your audio/video setups here
Nice job on scoring a Sony HD CRT altec. I have one also (Amazon link), and it's a great TV. My only complaints are that SD content can look fuzzy if it isn't in component. I also had some minor geometry issues, but corrected those myself through the service menu. However, SD content over component looks very nice. It goes without saying that HD on my TV looks fantastic, but that's a topic for another forum.
I'll have to post some pictures of both my school Sony SD CRT and my Sony HD CRT at home sometime.
