Wow it has a DVI and VGI input! You could use a HDMI-DVI connector and get digital HD picture wow for a tv that old thats pretty good.

T.V. speakers suck regardless of how old your tv is. I have a 7.1 surround setup and it's pretty good. I have a 32' sony wega and a pioneer receiver. heres a link to an album with some of my setup pictures as well as some pictures of my ps2 collection.

TV speakers are fine until you get spoiled by surround sound haha. And HOLY CRAP. That stack of games is going to fall and kill you.

I agree with both your statements. The last thing we need is you to be on CNN titled "Man killed by stack of video games".

if i remember correctly i was going to get a tv like yours before i figured out it only displayed 480I out component. so then i went with the high end model. i did some research on my tv, and the tv cost a little bit over $1000 when brand new, and the stand by itself costed about $249

I paid i think $60 for the t.v. so I wasn't too worried about not having hd, I just wanted component.

To support all those resolutions is really nice. So if your playing on older system you won't get controller lag when you play. The new HDTV's only support HD so they have to upconvert the video to 1080p/720p. The process of deinterlacing the videos and resizing them for the 16x9 screen causes lag of up to around 5 seconds on tv's. Most tv's have a gaming mode though but it might still be noticeable.
