I may have a temporary fix..on my older laptop I have kai version 7.1.7.6 and it seems to connect. my network is reachable, my ps2/3 is connected

not sure if anyone here has that version and can tell me if it does work. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the other version to work again..

I have never used that version, but since its older then the one we use I bet it will work ok. I wonder why you are all of a sudden getting that error for version 7.3.1.7. I'd try asking for help on the xlink kai forum too.

I started getting the error, bc in the file config, whatever words are in the top left corner, I ended up deleting, I didnt know what they were before I deleted it, so I closed it out thinking that it wouldn't save my changes. However it did and won't open at all

You mean you opened up the "Configure Kai" thing?

If so, the letters up in the top left corner in the UI section are "kaiUI.exe"

yes, exactly and unfortunately I can't get back in to it. it won't let me run anything but the user interface - which does nothing.

Here guys, try this for Win 7.

Also,
Did kai ever work on your PC?
Don't forget, you MAY need to Port Forward IN YOUR router AND MAKE sure your PC is set to static IP (Port forward DOES NOT WORK W/OUT Static IP)
