Go here to talk about Playstation 2 online games that can be LAN tunneled through programs like Xlink Kai.

Socom LAN party using 1 xlink account

    Post by soontobesrt4 »

Once a month I host a 6-8 Socom LAN party. Just recently I heard about Xlink, I was wondering if I would be able to use 1 PC with an Xlink account to get my whole party onto the Xlinx server?

    Hi!

This could be great idea! I don't know if this could be possible.

When is your next Lan party scheduled?

SOCOM II is the most played online. Last Sunday we were 16 players! And with a new patch you can host up to 20 players!
    \\FAT PAL PS2 + Internal 64GB SD Card + FMCB 1.953 + OPL 0.9.3
    \\PCSX2 1.40 + CLR DEV9 V0.8.2 (Playing via Wifi!)

    Playing: B.O File#1&2, SWBF I&II,Sniper Elite, Area 51, Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge, T.M.B.O, C.O.D 3, M.G.S.3.O

We are looking to play on the 17th or 24th of this month. So you think each unit would need its own PC? This would be awesome if I got this to work with only one PC.

1 Pc per console will work, but you will need at least a 16 inputs switch/router to connect everything together.

I do have a 16 port switch. I guess trying to use 1 PC for all units wont work then?!

You should give it a try. If You can test with at least 2 consoles and 1 P.C with Xlink Kai. If both consoles can connect to a game then it's a success, so with 6 consoles more it would also work.
If with 2 consoles it doesn't work, then each unit must have a computer.
I only have one console at my house so I never tried with more
