UPDATE: Biohazard Outbreak: File #2 is now open to the public. Additionally, Biohazard Outbreak: File #1 has also been revived thanks to the efforts of obsrv.org. As with File #2, you will need an NTSC-J (Japanese) copy of File #1 in order to connect to the server.
Hot on the heels of the return of Metal Gear Online comes news that Biohazard Outbreak: File #2 (the Japanese version of Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2) is also back online!
As of this time, there is no word on whether or not the NTSC-U/C and PAL versions of Biohazard Outbreak: File #2 will return. The original Biohazard Outbreak/RE Outbreak are up in the air as well.
The Resident Evil game that has been revived is the Japanese version of Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 (A.K.A. Biohazard Outbreak File #2). The NTSC-U/C or PAL versions of File #2 will not work, as they used different network middleware solutions.
Medal of Honor: Rising Sun is still offline. Perhaps you mean Metal Gear Online?
The NTSC-U/C version of Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence will work on the new server. If you have any more questions about MGO, please post in the Metal Gear Online thread.
The Biohazard Outbreak: File #2 server has now been restricted to beta testers due to the recent rapid influx of players. As of now, only those registered on the obsvr.org forum as beta testers are allowed to play until testing is complete.
I recently checked back in with the Outbreak Server Project and found that not only was File #2 open to the public, but that Biohazard Outbreak: File #1 was back online as well. As with File #2, you will need an NTSC-J (Japanese) copy in order to play on the new servers.
Well, if they managed to bring a dead game back online, doesn't that mean that ANY dead online game is able to live again? I would love if hackers bring back games like Burnout Revenge.
