Site Chat Testing

Post by lazyhoboguy »

We are going to try out having a chat for the site, in the hopes it will make communicating during game sessions easier. We don't want it to detract from the forum activity though, so we will have to see how it works out.

*EDIT* 9/5/11

The Chat Link with all the information is located at the top of the site now. You can click on it or below to view the chat information page only once you are registered and logged in:

http://www.ps2onlinegaming.com/forum/chat

I also deleted the direct links to the chat from this page so unregistered users wont just start using the chat without registering.

So in the future please do not link directly to the webchat, so guests to the site wont be able to get to the chat without registering and logging in. Just tell people to click the Chat link at the top of the page to get to chat, since only registered/logged in users can see the page with the chat info.

Can't you just embed the chat into the site?

We added a chat link at the top of the site, but we cannot embed the chat on the page it brings you too. To embed it you need to use html and the static page mod that allows us to have those pages doesn't allow html. We could embed the chat on the homepage somewhere, but we want to make the chat invisible to guests until they login so people dont just start using the chat without registering.

*edit*

At the chat link at the top of the page I edited it a bit to make it more obvious where the link to the webchat is now:
