Weekly Sunday Game: ATV Offroad Fury 4 (10/30/11)

Post by wawowe »

Our weekly Sunday night game on 10/30/11 is ATV Offroad Fury 4 since it won the poll.

For more info about our Sunday night weekly games go here to read the news post. Like every Sunday night, the weekly game on 10/30/2011 will start at 9:30 PM EDT (GMT-4).

If you are confused by what time the game starts because of time zone differences, look at the clock in my signature which is for the Eastern Time Zone. The game starts once that clock shows 9:30 pm.

It will be played through LAN tunneling with Xlink Kai. Or if we run into trouble with XLink Kai, we might try using XBSlink. So just show up in the ATV4 arena on Xlink Kai if you want to play. You can also try finding us on the Chat, instant messengers, or skype. If you plan to show up, or know that you cannot make it, try to post back in the thread to let us know.

You can try contacting us through instant messengers and skype. We just added a chat to the site as well which you can access by clicking the chat button at the top of the site. If you intend to play or know you cannot make it, also try posting back in this thread to let other people know.

Don't Forget! Vote in the Poll for which game will be played 2 weeks from now on 11/6/11!
The poll for the Sunday weekly game on 11/6/11 has its own thread which is located here: http://www.ps2onlinegaming.com/forum/vi ... .php?t=774

Failed Weekly Sunday Game: ATV Offroad Fury 4 (10/30/11)

As usual everyone was having problems to connect on XLink from the beginning, and no one could see their own ping. By the time Mytho and lazyhoboguy have left at almost 11PM EST, after reconnecting a few times, I've succeeded in hosting this game on XLink and making BR1SAM to join my lobby, but there was no one else to join it with us. There was no one on the site's chat either, and I couldn't reach anyone to ask to come back.

BR1SAM and I have played on XBS many times and we were very patient to try to make this work on XLink just to play with the rest of you. I don't know if the people who left had lost the interest in playing the game or were just not patient to make XLink work. The only thing I know is that if everyone had XBS working or stayed a few more minutes waiting on XLink, we could have great fun playing this game.

Wawowe was on the chat the whole time to support people with connection problems, if he had this game he would have definitely played on XBS or XLink with the 2 of us. Next time I'm voting in one of Wawowe's games, I'm sure he never misses a match.

I wanted to play, but it seemed like no matter what I did, nobody could see my ping in Xlink. I could see everyone else fine, but they couldn't see me. Everyone also showed up as red on XBSlink.

I have to go through this fight with my connection every time I want to play a game over LAN. It isn't worth trying for 45 minutes when I know this is outside of my control. I wish more of the actual online games were included in the poll since LAN tunneling is a complete gamble for myself.

Well I tried for an hour straight to see if we could play through xlink kai or if I could make xbslink work and neither worked, so I decided to give up for the night. Xbslink will not work for me here since I cannot touch the router to open ports. On top of that I get an error every time I start the engine that causes the program to crash. Some nights Xlink Kai decides to not work for us, despite all the people having their ports open. Think it is something to do with the orbital system. When we were trying to play there was always 1 or 2 people whose pings I could nto see which means you cannot connect to them when trying to play a game. Unfortunately I am stuck with my current internet situation for the forseeable future, so I cannot use xbslink really and have to do deal with the inconsistency of Xlink Kai. I am willing to try atv offroad fury 4 on xlink ka another time though. I tried telling you panko that I was leaving for the night, think I did it on the xlink chat so maybe you did not see it.
