Re: Killzone's online mode has been terminated.
To my knowledge, there was no prior notification of the shutdown. http://blog.us.playstation.com/tag/killzone/ If you look at that link, you'll see that the most recent blog post about Killzone for the PS2 was the post that celebrated the 5th anniversary of the game, back in 2009. http://community.k...

Re: SOCOM servers to be terminated 8/31/12
Woops! Sorry for misleading everyone; I guess I misinterpreted something I read a few years ago. I actually don't have the SOCOM 3/CA patch downloaded, but I'll be sure to download it, and I will hang onto it, so that I can use the patch for the game's LAN mode after August 31st. I'll also hold on t...

Re: SOCOM servers to be terminated 8/31/12
Don't forget about the free downloadable maps for SOCOM 3/CA! The maps are free, but they have DRM, so you can't move them from one console to the other. After the servers that hold the maps get shut down, the maps will be gone forever. Try to download a copy of each map for each PS2 that you own or...

Re: Battlefield 2: Modern Combat Account Creation Back Onlin
Wow! Bravo, FreddY! There's just one thing I don't understand: ...What I have done is reproduced these files so that players are seamlessly able to create a new GameSpy ID for Battlefield 2: Modern Combat online! How exactly did you go about doing this? Were the files in some sort of an easy-to-repl...

Re: SOCOM servers to be terminated 8/31/12
GUYS We should packet dump SOCOM 1, after all it doesn't use DNAS, so we MIGHT be able to bring it back up or post the code so some coders can. I already logged a lot of packets for the SOCOM games, in addition to Amplitude. If anyone wants any of these files, just tell me. Anyway, I’m sad to hear ...

Re: Speculating on what other games might include LAN
I just found out that the page wherein lordnikon talks about testing the game's LAN mode is still up. Through XMPP, he told me that he used a Playstation 3 and a Playstation 2, rather than two Playsation 2's, to test its LAN mode.

Re: Burnout Revenge's online servers back up; Resurrected by
I'll admit that I'm not sure if you were asking those questions rhetorically, but this sort of thing did already happen for other games. EA terminated the servers for both the Xbox and Playstation 2 versions of Burnout 3: Takedown in autumn of 2007. On January 14th, 2008, the servers were brought ba...

Noonotthat and I are about to play Amplitude online. It's currently about 6:30 PM, as of the clock in my signature. (I'm GMT-5, but am observing daylight savings time.)

Re: Requesting Assistance with Xlink Kai
That's the annoying thing about bridging connections in Windows. When you use that setup, the packets that your laptop sends to your router get sent through the wireless adapter. As a result, the packets all have your wireless adapter's MAC address, in the "source" section, instead of your PS2's MAC...

Re: R&C:UYA, Amplitude, and/or SF:TOS on Saturday, March 31s
I won't be able to play any of these games tonight. (I probably won't be able to play them tomorrow night, either.) I do expect to be able to play them this Thursday and/or Wednesday, though.
