I'm getting a PS2 to play online, lol
But I want to know which racing games are still online. So far, I've only seen Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition Remix and Crash n Burn, but my big question is DO PEOPLE STILL PLAY THEM?
I'm asking this because I haven't seen any topics on this site about racing games (only shooters), so are there still enough people out there that I can play with?
Any Racing games for PS2 online?

Re: Any Racing games for PS2 online?
Crash N' Burn is one of the few racing games still online, but the last time I checked the online lobby, they were empty. Most other racing games (if not all of them), have been taken down and only games that have a LAN mode are still playable with other people.
You can see the status of games still online here:
http://www.ps2onlinegaming.com/forum/vi ... ?f=29&t=17
And a list of the games that have a LAN mode here:

Hope this helps!

In addition, the only racing game I have that is still online is The Fast and the Furious. If you happen to have that game, we could always schedule a time to race each other

Midnight Club 3 is still online, but mostly empty, most people use it as a chat room, so you'd have to set up a time.
I've also heard the flatouts are still up. There are probably more gamespy based games too.....

Re: Any Racing games for PS2 online?
Complete list of PS2 online racing games that are still online:
Still Online:
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (PAL Only, LAN supported)
Crash 'N' Burn
The Fast and the Furious (LAN supported)
FlatOut
FlatOut 2
Ford vs. Chevy
Hot Wheels Stunt Track Challenge (LAN supported)
IndyCar Series 2005 (PAL Only, LAN supported)
Juiced (LAN supported)
Midnight Club 2 (LAN supported)
Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition (LAN supported)
Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition REMIX (LAN supported)
MotoGP 4 (LAN supported)
MTX: Mototrax (LAN supported)
MX vs. ATV Unleashed
MX vs. ATV Untamed

TOCA Race Driver 3 (LAN supported)
LAN Only:
ATV Offroad Fury 2
ATV Offroad Fury 3
ATV Offroad Fury 4
Crash Tag Team Racing
Gran Turismo 4
Jak X: Combat Racing
OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast
Your best bet would be Midnight Club 3 DUB Edition REMIX, since according to the Complete List of PS2 GameSpy Online Status Pages, there are usually people playing online 24/7. Keep in mind that players with the 'REMIX' version of the game can also play online together with players who have the normal 'Dub Edition' version of the game.
For traditional street racing, I would also recommend The Fast and the Furious, Juiced and Street Racing Syndicate.
Juiced is unique in that it features the ability to partake in 'pink-slip' races with online opponents. A 'pink-slip' race is a race through which both racers are putting their car on the line (all backed up by an aggressive auto-saving function in case you tried to turn the PS2 off in the middle of a race). The winner gets to walk away with their opponent’s customized car. This can be a heartbreaking experience if you lose a car that you have spent a great deal of time and energy building and customizing. On the other hand, if you build a fast enough car, you can potentially win other customized cars that you can display online.
Jak X: Combat Racing (LAN only) also receives high marks from many members of the PS2 online gaming community for it's ability to run well over XLink Kai and it's support of split-screen online multiplayer as well as online bots.
All of the games I have mentioned feature a LAN mode and can be played online forever via LAN tunneling programs such as XLink Kai or XBSlink.
