Anything but Gamespy?
Is every PS2 Online game now just hosted be Gamespy. One exception I believe is Call of Duty 3. Is that it?

Champions of norrath and return to arms are still hosted by Sony Online Entertainment which is a seperate entity that hosts games like everquest and the likes. Final Fantasy XI is still hosted by square i believe too.

Also, any LAN game is still basically up, and Tribes 2 used a simple list with no DNAS.

Re: Anything but Gamespy?
The ps2 is the probably the best system for multiplayer longevity than any other systems from its generation. The dreamcast had so few games online and used dial up which makes it hard to setup today. The gamecube had almost no games online and the xbox relies on the xbox live which is near impossible to get back up and running. While the xbox has more lan games the ps2 is by far more popular and has a bigger user base making it better for lan tunneling imo except for the halos of course

Re: Anything but Gamespy?
Xbox has Halo 2 which people continue to LAN tunnel on, which is great. Dreamcast has a dedicated following of people of whom still go online from time to time. The GAMECUBE HAD ONLINE? :O

1080 Avalanche, Mario Kart, and a Kirby Game have lan modes but they tunnel very poorly over the internet at horrible framerates. Also there a few japanese games that had pure onine modes. Phantasy star online is the only american online game for the gamecube though.JamesCableCar wrote:The GAMECUBE HAD ONLINE? :O

Re: Anything but Gamespy?
So did you have to buy an adapter or something because I can't see a network port in my one?

Correct. The Gamecube broadband adapter connects to serial port 1, on the underside of the Gamecube.
To regress to the OT, FreddY recently told me that World Series of Poker 2008: Battle for the Bracelets (hosted by Demonware, the same company that hosts CoD 3,) is still playable online.
