Renown in Diablo 4 is a system of Goals and Rewards added to the game in order to encourage players to explore the game world and engage in activities to enhance the overall quality of their experience while playing the game. It's also worth noting that the Renown a player has earned resets at the end of every season, meaning you'll need to go back and do it all again, but this also comes with new rewards to claim.

So in this guide, we will walk you through everything you need to know about Diablo 4's Renown system, from the various ways of earning Renown across different regions to the diverse range of rewards that are available, both for the entire account and for your specific character.

The Renown system in Diablo 4 is split into five stages, each with its own set of rewards and objectives. Here are the Renown tiers and rewards:

Tier 1 (200 Renown) - Bonus XP, 3000 Diablo 4 gold, and one skill point.
Tier 2 (300 Renown) - Bonus XP, 10,000 Diablo 4 gold, and one potion charge.
Tier 3 (400 Renown) - Bonus XP, 25,000 Diablo 4 gold, and one skill point.
Tier 4 (400 Renown) - Bonus XP, 60,000 Diablo 4 gold, and 80 Max Obols.
Tier 5 (500 Renown) - Bonus XP, 125,000 Diablo 4 gold, and four Paragon Points.

These rewards are also locked to your account, not just your current character. Meaning that every Renown Reward obtained by one of them, will grant the same Reward to all of them, but completing the same objective with different characters won't repeatedly grant you Renown Points.

Players can earn these rewards by completing various in-game quests and gaining Renown in the game. The more challenging the objective, the more amount of Renown Points the player will earn:

Entering a new area grants 5 Renown Points
Activating the Altars of Lilith grants 10 Renown Points
Unlocking Waypoints grants 20 Renown Points
Completing a Side Quest grants 20 Renown Points
Completing a Dungeons grants 30 Renown Points
Completing a Strongholds grants 100 Renown Points

You can typically discover more than 60 areas on the map, 20+ side quests, dungeons, and Altars of Lilith, and a few Strongholds in each region. Strongholds are more challenging than other activities, but they offer more rewards and unlock additional side quests and dungeons.

That's all for our explainer of the Diablo 4 Renown system, and now you know what activities to complete to increase your Renown, along with the rewards you can claim.
