I believe that is what you do. What I did was connect ethernet from Router to PS2. Many youtube videos show getting online via a modem connection. After you have to have a network configuration. I'm not sure how to describe what to do but I'm pretty sure you can find more information on this site and via YouTube videos.

Thanks

no, not if you have tribes, which is another cool thing about tribes

from the main menu of tribes, go down to network configuration or set up and click on it
then highlight add settings

put everything on auto until you get to dns address
there you want manual and you have to enter four different numbers as a dns address, you do most of this stuff with the directional pad. The dns address you need to add is 69.94.123.66 then you save it and test it then you quit or leave, your ps2 will restart itself
if everything went well, go online and you'll see "master list" it's a room but you can't join, it just means you're at the right spot

You need a memory card in order to save a network configuration to it. You also need a ps2 network setup dic, or any of these games in this list as they all have a network setup utility:

Well I'm in good shape then. Already bought tribes, socom 2 and COD2 and getting cold winter possibly. Heres another question..Of the 2, which is more populated? Battlefield 2 or Star Wars 2?

i'd say battle field but i heard there's big games once a week on star wars

when you do play anything else you should make another dns address and do everything auto
don't put in a dns address, you won't have to

on tribes you do and i'm late and hosting soon for a bit
