Setting Up Xlink Question

I am really frustrated I had played xlink a lot a couple years ago but since I got a new computer it didn't even install properly. Well now xlink installs and loads properly I just can't get it to find my console. I followed the guide on this site and nothing. What I am wondering though is back in the day I seem to remember something about port forwarding. Is that what I am missing ? if so is there a guide for that anywhere ? Any help would be great I want to try and play Jak X this weekend with another member of the forum we tried Monday but I couldn't get it working.

How is your ps2 connected to the network? Your ps2 not being detected has nothing to do with port forwarding. Whenever I had issues with that I used the manual configuration. We have a guide here for that: http://www.ps2onlinegaming.com/forum/vi ... f=29&t=179

It is connected directly to my internet modem via Ethernet. That is the guide I used and I am not getting a found console connection

Make sure you put in the correct IP address otherwise your PS2 won't be detected. Putting auto for PS2 IP should work in most cases as long you have XLink Kai running before you log on to LAN.

Also don't use Wireless connection to connect PC to PS2 because that won't work on Windows OS.

WIRED Connection

PS2 >> Router/Modem << PC

Wireless Connection

PS2 >> PC with Ethernet and Wi-Fi bridged >> Router/Modem

This method of Wireless Connection won't work:

PS2 >> Router/Modem << PC connected via Wi-Fi
=======================================

To put it simply your PC and PS2 must talking thru wired connection

I have used the IP that the xlink generator gave me also the setup wouldn't let me chose auto dns I used the setup via the Jak x game if I use a network setup app on a different game do you think that will help ?
