The guy sent me back a response: Hi,

the protocol XBSlink uses is designed to take advantage of direct P2P
connections (latency).
A Server based protocol could be implemented sometime in the future.

To make XBSlink work properly, only one port has to be forwarded on each
client.
A "closed port" client can also always connect to an "open port" client.

The problem only exists between 2 "closed port" XBSlink clients.

That is encouraging. So sounds like as long as the host is port forwarded, other people who do not have port forwarding setup will be able to join them. We will have to test this out further to confirm this.

Also, the official FAQ mentioned that, like Xlink Kai, this program supports UPnP, so if that feature is enabled on your router, you won't even need to forward the port in order to host.

I've been having many problems with Xlink Kai, such as how you must run the program as an administrator, and how the program doesn't work if your PC has a bridged network connection enabled. The official XBSlink FAQ says that running the program as an administrator is, "not recommended," so apparently it's designed to be run as a limited user. I'm going to test this program, for myself, to see if there are any problems while using a bridged connection.

Masquarr I use a bridged connection with Xlink Kai and it works fine. I take it you need a bridged connection because you have wireless internet on your PC? That is my situation. I bridge the wireless/wired network cards on my pc then use a normal ethernet cord from pc to the ps2 and xlink kai works.

I had problems wit running xlink with limited rights, running it as admin did the trick for me.

The only issue I've had with xbslink is trying to get ATV 4 for the PS2 to work.
I have tested it with GT4 for the PS2, but not with more than just two people.
I had to open both ports in the router ,in the firewall (MCAFEE), and enable the MAC ID of the PS2 in the settings before I could get it to work.
The PS2 and the PC are connected to the router.
Let's all get together one night whaen we have time and try this thing together.

A game that most of us has tha does not need special configuration.
Like TSFP.
