So, I recently found out that ps2 online gaming was alive and well, so I hooked up my ps2 slim to the internet and got it set up and whatnot. I got tired of ps3 and 360, so I went back to the older games.... Can anyone help me get started? :)

Welcome man :D! PS2 online is still alive but many games went offline in the last 2 months which badly affected the ps2 online world :( What games do you have and I'll tell you if they are online and that kind of shizz :D

I have Armored Core Nexus, Armored Core Last Raven, Armored Core Nine Breaker, Battlefield 2 Modern Combat, Metal Gear Solid 3, Conflict Desert Storm, NFS Prostreet, Gran Turismo 4. Those are all I have that i think have online capability. I already got bf2mc to work online, and connected to their servers by changing the IP....

Also, I noticed you live in UK. I actually live in Germany, so our timezones aren't far off. :P

Okay well all the Armored Core games are offline, BUT you can play online via LAN tunneling :D All the others are offline for good I THINK, except for BF2 which you've already got online :D And btw, I think it's a 1 hour difference between us :D

Gran Turismo 4 can be played online via LAN tunneling, but I've heard that it doesn't tunnel very well. Unless you can play with others in your region, you probably won't have much luck with GT4.

AC is online via tunnling, BF2MC has plenty of people still, GT4 is a tunnel game as well, and NFS + MGS3 are down for good, though NFS is on other platforms online and idk if conflict desert storm even had Online.

Can someone explain to me how tunneling works?

Basically you go into system link mode in the game, find games, then load up Xlink Kai and it basically tricks the console into thinking you're in a LAN with other consoles.

Nobody ever does it on PS2/xbox, other then Halo 2, though.

So basically I'd have to set up a time with someone else in order to do a AC match?
