I played online once 2 years ago and did not need to port forward for it. I'm not sure if it is the same for the PAL version. And I hadn't thought about us not being able to play online together since its different version, good point Favrenation.
What times specifically work for you guys to test it out?
I'm around from 10am-3pm GMT-5 on Saturdays

I could do the that possibly. Probably only for a little bit though. I think maybe you and I should test sometime this week to see if it actually works cross region. We don't have to play I just want to make sure it actually works.

ACTUALLY, I realized that it only supports up to 4 players online. That's interesting, but I think it does the same thing online that it does for splitscreen. Which is that each player gets 2 AI controlled bot allies. You can control where they go and issues different commands to them. So it could turn out not too bad if we even have 3 players online at a time. Maybe...

so in about an two hours I will start playing I guess in less you guys want to pick a different time. I think it might actually be cross region compatible because when I signed in with the PAL game it accepted my NTSC ubisoft account for when I setup XIII. Also grub if you have an Instant messenger or skype we could use that to easily chat better about this. I think he means 10-3 in his time.
